Morgan Hermanson's Bio

Ms. Morgan Hermanson lives in Troy, Illinois with her husband, Justin Mattea, daughter, Scarlett, and doggie, Ralphie. Ms. Hermanson comes from a humble background, having worked at various restaurants since the age of 15, she received a G.E.D in 1999. In 2007, she decided to go to college. It was not always an easy transition from work to school, but she dug in to accomplish what she wanted. She acknowledges the importance in having attended a local community college before transferring to a university. After graduating from Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville, she transferred to Saint Louis University where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in English, graduating magma cum laude. Upon graduation, she attended Saint Louis University School of Law. She graduated in 2015.

Morgan has dreamed of being an attorney since she was a little girl. She has always believed it was most important to help people who were less fortunate and who needed the extra support. She was known to take up for those who did not have an easy childhood and never to back down from a fight, no matter how tough it would be.

Morgan believes whole heartedly in the value of hard work, being determined, and persisting even when the odds are not in your favor. She wakes up every day proud that her dedication to pursuing her dream of helping others has developed into this opportunity for a career in law.

Since becoming a lawyer, she has worked in public service in Madison County Illinois Public Defender’s Office where she litigated felony cases, of all varieties, but primarily felony domestic batteries. Her proudest moment at that office is when she successfully negotiated a dismissal for a charge of first-degree murder. To her, it meant this young man would receive another chance at life.

Following that time, she worked in Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office where she prosecuted DUI’s and various misdemeanors. Her proudest moment during her tenure was securing a guilty conviction in a retail theft jury trial. The jury only deliberated for 20 minutes.

Morgan will always be honored to represent people in making their lives better. She will focus her practice on personal injury law, criminal defense and probate.
